I recall that cold wintery night
I stayed out late with a friend
I didn’t know if it was wrong or right
I only knew this shouldn’t end.
We rode around the noisy streets,
I held his shoulders in the cold,
As the rain kissed our cheeks,
We rode on being ever so bold.
Sitting around with his friends
Chatting away on what’s next
His eyes sweetly extends
A smile at me in total flex.
There was something right there
We knew the feeling wouldn’t last long
Yet we had the undying need to share
Our wishes were momentarily strong.
We rode back to the hostel
He sat there for sometime just talking
My throat jammed to a bad tonsil
I held back my thoughts that were walking!
He held my hand in an innocent way
As he said goodbye that night
A merry heart goes all day
It remains a memory in total delight.
